

Silver and Pearls
For now, this is really only a working name while I come up with something more appropriate. Often when I'm painting, I will "nickname" my paintings and will consequently go with that name. However, there are times when I know it's only temporary so for now, I'll just go with Silver and Pearls. I am completely loving every moment of trying to capture shiny or reflective objects. High Tea
I call my newest still life "High Tea" because I've stayed at so many hotels where they serve High Tea. After being inspired, I proceeded to set up some great Still Life's to paint with many of my heirlooms. I really enjoying using them as subject matter and they're often quite challenging, but going through the process only serves to make me a better painter. In the year 2020....
Over the holidays I spent a little time painting some reflective items. These are a lot of fun to do. I always ask myself, how can I render something 3D into a 2D painting? It's definitely a challenge at times but in 2020 I'm hoping to try some even more challenging still life's in my search for attaining more realism. Happy New Year.
