Where Art Meets the Paranormal: My Painting at the Homer Watson Gallery

I recently stopped by the COAA CROSSECTION exhibition after missing the opening reception.

It felt perfectly fitting to see my painting—a surreal scene of a floating teapot and a moonlit tea service—hanging in the Homer Watson Gallery in Kitchener, Ontario. Known for its deep roots in spiritualism and frequent reports of paranormal activity, the gallery is a uniquely atmospheric space.

Walking up the gallery’s long, creaky staircase and into the dimly lit, ambient foyer, I noticed how the specialized lighting made each piece seem to glow against the shadows. With the gallery’s reputation for hauntings and its history of paranormal tours, it was the ideal setting for my work. I was also incredibly honoured that this piece received a "Third Place" award during its time in such an evocative and historic home!
