Excited to Share My Artwork in the Society of Canadian Artists 2026 Exhibition at DIGNAM Gallery
I'm so excited to share that my latest artwork, “The Thing That Happened in Morocco,” has been accepted into the Society of Canadian Artists 2026 Elected Members Exhibition, themed "Celebrate," This is the first of two included.
The show will take place at DIGNAM Gallery, located inside the Women’s Art Association of Canada in Toronto, and will run from October 31 to November 11.

Why this acceptance means so much
Having “The Thing That Happened in Morocco” accepted into this exhibition is deeply meaningful to me. Every artwork begins in a private place. It starts with a memory, a question, a colour, a feeling that will not leave. Then it becomes a process of choosing, removing, adding, doubting, and and changing until the time a piece leaves the studio, it carries all of that invisible work with it.
To have this particular piece selected by the Society of Canadian Artists makes the moment even more special. The organization has a long-standing place in Canadian art, and being included in an elected members exhibition feels like both an honour and an encouragement to keep going.
About “The Thing That Happened in Morocco”
The title “The Thing That Happened in Morocco” holds a certain mystery, which feels right for the piece. It suggests a memory without explaining everything. It points toward a place, an event, or a feeling, but leaves room for the viewer to enter.
It holds a story, but it does not hand the story over too quickly. It invites curiosity.
Morocco, as a reference, brings with it layers of colour, heat, light, movement, and memory. But the work is not simply about a place. It is about what can happen when a place stays with you, when an experience becomes less literal over time and more emotional, more dreamlike, more charged. That is part of what I hope people feel when they see it in person.
Come see the exhibition in Toronto
This Exhibition is a chance to see a range of work by elected members, gathered in one place. It's an exhibition that feels connected to the Toronto art scene, and I'm grateful to share it in a space with such a strong history of supporting artists and visual culture.
A Note of Thanks
I want to take a moment to say thank you to Society of Canadian Artists and esteemed jurors, for including my work in the 2026 Elected Members Exhibition. Thank you to DIGNAM Gallery and the Women’s Art Association of Canada for hosting the show and to everyone who has followed my work, offered encouragement, visited past exhibitions or simply taken time to look.
