The South of France-Artist in Residence

It was an absolute pleasure to be one of the artists in residence at Le Festival de Bargemon in France during the month of July. I met so many incredibly talented people and artists from around the world. The spectacular location, the fun and great people who put together and worked very hard for this amazing festival was beyond anything I had ever imagined.

Even though it was very hot at times, we didn't allow it to deter us in our goals to create some beautiful art during the first week in Bargemon. It was also a time of great camaraderie and getting to know all the wonderful artists while living in this absolutely charming village in the Alps. I've gained many new friends and continue to be inspired by all of them.

The big finale was a show of works by myself and the other artists and we were lucky to end the almost three week event by enjoying all the music by some wonderful bands including artist Paul Richard Mason and his band Velvet Circus and performances by remarkable and talented Satoshi Haga and Rie Fukuzawa of Bin Bin Factory.

There are so many to thank and even though I don't have all of the names to list here, they know who they are. Thank you to Festival Creator Stephen Paul, whom also worked tirelessly and even kindly made my stretcher frames, wonder woman and city councillor Madou Hillanius, huge supporter Bob Paul, Proxi Market for the wonderful feast, Michele & Guy Beddington from the lovely Galerie Beddington Fine Art to which I am now represented, Per & Jetta from Blue Dog Gallery who so kindly and swiftly framed my paintings! Also to Mr. Mayor Yves Bucket and city council, photographer Claude Burillion, Valerie Banse Kersual and team of Var Matin Dracenie ...and all the sponsors. Thank you!

One more special shout out to my husband and partner, Stephen Bauld! I couldn't have done it without his love and support...and to our new friends Allison Kotzig and Melissa Macabre...thank you for always making us laugh! May there be many more stories to tell in the future.
