"Paint Ontario" Update
Now that Paint Ontario is over for 2018, I wanted to reflect a bit and post an update. So many brilliant artists were accepted into this show with sales of over a $100,000! This is an incredible accomplishment in a small town considering the show was only open for a couple of weeks. I'm so amazed by the people who worked hard together and their dedication was reflected in the sales. However its not just about sales, its about art and community! I met so many new friends and I look forward to meeting up with them again next year.
Its definitely a happening place and now with the warmer weather, Im sure its a top tourist destination for southern Ontario, Canada. This was my first time visiting Grand Bend. After this experience, I'll certainly be going back to check out the excitement this summer. If you haven't had the chance to visit Grand Bend and you can make the trip, I highly recommend it! It has one of the most beautiful beach areas with fantastic restaurants, bars and many tourist type attractions....and the people are so friendly and welcoming!
In conclusion, it was an experience of a lifetime and as an artist, it was somewhat of a triple crown. "Harley Man" was accepted into the first ever portrait division, then won an award, then the icing on the cake was that it sold! A nice reminder of a wonderful place and I'm glad it found a new home in the beautiful gem of a town called Grand Bend!
